Wolfson Laboratory
The NDPH Wolfson Laboratory provides cost-effective support for PHRU's studies. It investigates, and provides guidance for, various aspects of methodology including: sample collection procedures for blood and urine; transportation procedures; stability of biomarkers; cataloguing and temperature controlled storage strategies for large-scale collections; the development of assay methods that are suitable for high-throughput testing in large study populations without compromising the reliability or quality of the data produced.
The laboratory currently supports several automated clinical chemistry and immunoassay platforms. The NDPH Wolfson Laboratory is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to the ISO 17025:2005 Standard. NDPH Wolfson Laboratory is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory, No. 2799. The NDPH Wolfson Laboratory's current Schedule of Accreditation can be found on the UKAS website by entering the search term 2799. High-throughput plate-array assays, including multiplex assays, are supported using automated liquid handling workstations.
